Finals were around the corner. School bills had to be paid down to $250.00 before we could take them....I had less than a week to make, find or come up $1,900.00. I knew it just wasn't going to happen...at least I wasn't going to be able to do it.

Several days went by, and nothing happened. I kept singing the little song that says, "He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, I know that He will care for me". I kept reminding myself {and Him!} that if He owned all that cattle, surely He could sell a few, and share the money with me. I mean, He's God. He can do anything, right?
Three days before finals, I found a note by the phone telling me that I needed to go down to Bro. Rosser's office as soon as I could THAT day. "That day" was stressed...which kinda made me a little stressed.
There were 2 things that Bro. Rosser did: 1) finances, and 2) kick people out of school! Of chorse, the latter was all I was concerned about!
I ran to his office, but he wasn't there. I sat and waited. It was just a few minutes, but they seemed forever to me. He finally got there and started telling me about some money that had been given to the college to help students who needed help paying their bills. I was still not sure where this was going.... That money was not usually given to the girls, at least not that I had ever heard of. It was more for preacher boys...so I thought....
Then he asked me a strange question: "Can your dad pay your sister's school bill?"
Now, I was really confused! Why did he want to see me if he was concerned about her school bill?? I really wasn't sure if dad could pay it. All I knew was that dad had been paying her bill and she/he only owed about $500. Considerably less than I owed.
I must have appeared confused, because Dr. Rosser quickly explained to me that he'd been watching me - that's scary - and if I could get my dad to pay my sisters bill completely, he would put $1,900.00 on my school bill!!!
I ran home amazed that anyone would do such a thing as this for me!! I called my dad and
But, one thing I know: GOD paid my school bill!!!
That was the first BIG thing God ever did for me, myself and I. I had seen Him provide for my parents and for other people. I had heard wonderful stories and read books about God providing things for His people, but this was the first time that I'd witnessed the power of God for Myself.
Oh, and it was NOT the LAST time either! God has been so incredibly good to me and my family. I can't wait to share more with you some day....

What an awesome post about God's provision. I am blown away by your faith! God bless you, Angela.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheena. It's only through hard times that we learn to lean on Him rather than ourselves. And even then, it's not our own faith - It's HIS faith that He gives us as we need it...just as He gives us grace each and every day to face the things we need to face.
ReplyDelete{I think I talk too much! I always sound "preachy" and that is NOT my intention. lol}
