I have a kid that never puts her shoes on the right feet. She has a 50/50 chance of putting them on the right feet and yet 95% of the time she does not. When I tell her to take them off and redo it, she ends up putting them back on the same (wrong) feet she just took them off. The poor child is going to grow up and walk like a penguin!
So, to help her out, I drew arrows in the insides of her shoes. If the arrows are pointing at each other, she knows she's putting them on the right feet. =)
So, far it has helped her put them on correctly. In fact, she seems to think it makes her special because I wrote in her shoes and no one else's. Hopefully it doesn't become a fad around our house to write in or on all the shoes. Maybe I should not have drawn the arrows when she was watching me. We shall see....

I am going to try this arrow trick! Eli is still having trouble getting his on the right feet, and now he is very frustrated when they are wrong (again). Thanks for the tip :) Niki
ReplyDeleteLove this idea!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA!!! I have a son just like that! Everytime I corrected him and told him to change his shoes, he told me that he liked them that way. I never thought of arrows inside. Great idea.
