Revealing Your Inner Princess

I absolutely LOVE to look feminine.  I used to wish I had been born 200 years ago when the ladies all wore gowns and were treated as ladies should be treated.  I used to dream about what it would be like to dress up in floor length gowns and believe it or not, I even wondered what it would be like to wear a corset!

I'd still do!  I'm definitely over the corset idea by now, but the dresses are still something that I love to look at and admire.  I guess I just never grew up.

Not only do I like the way they look.  I LOVE they way they feel!   I love they way them make me feel.  I love feeling like a princess!

Why do you think little girls everywhere just love princess dresses and dream of the perfect wedding dress??  Because they love to feel feminine.  They just can't help it.  It's in them.  That's the way God made them.  I really do enjoy looking and feeling like a lady.  I should hope that my clothes would just scream: I'm a lady and I love it!  I'm feminine and proud of it!!

You think I'm crazy?  Try it for yourself!

Wear a skirt one day a week for the rest of the summer.  It needs to be long and flowing.  Easy to move around in.  Go to Cato and get one of their peasant skirts.  I love those things.  You can even get matching ones for your daughters.

Do fun, girly things on your 'skirt day':  Go for a walk and enjoy the wind blowing your skirt.  Enjoy spinning in circles in the living room with your daughters.  You will notice that they are so much cooler in the summer time.  Go for a walk on a beach.  Take the kids to the park.  Visit a friend who needs encouragement.  Dance with your husband or your son.  Meat your husband for a surprise lunch date.  Go shopping.  Meat a friend for lunch.  There are so many things that you can do in a skirt.  And it really is so fun!

Pay attention to the way your children and husband react to you in your skirt.  Do they act differently?  I know a mother who decided to wear a skirt one day each week, just to see what would happen.  She reported at the end of the 6 week trial period that her husband complimented her more often on the days she wore her skirts.  Her children snuggled with her and clung to her skirt in a way that made her feel more motherly and necessary.  People in town treated her with more respect.  She said by the time the 6 weeks were over she was wearing a skirt at least 3 days out of the week, mostly because of the way she felt, but also because of the reasons mentioned  above.  She just loved it!

I was inspired by this woman's testimony!  I would have tried it, but I already wear skirts everyday.   Kinda feel like I'm missing out...  SO, I decided to share her story here and see if any of you wanted to take me up on a challenge!

Why not try it?  Just 6 days in a skirt.  One day a week....6 weeks.  You never know.  You may love it too.  Little girls everywhere love to be princesses.  Why not reveal a little bit of your inner princess???

  1. It's amazing how wearing a skirt or dress makes you feel... and I mean an appropriate dress or skirt. Growing up my sister always picked on me because I would want to wear dresses to school. Some days I'd be a tom-boy country girl and other days I just wanted to look pretty! I started wearing skirts to work last year. That was really a big leap for me but after trying it out for a few days it became something I did every day. I love it. I feel so so much more comfortable, fit is way easier to deal with than with pants, and it's just the way I feel is right in helping to share my testimony with the world!

  2. That's a great testimony, Lisa! Thank you for sharing! I've always loved to wear skirts too. It's not a "conviction" for me. It's a pleasure!
