Ladies Reaching Ladies

There are certain times in life when a lady, a mother especially, feels the need to know for sure that there is a God.  A Deity that watches and knows, protects and guides.  A way to Heaven.  There are certain times when she needs to know that there is life after death.  She needs to know that there is hope for her family, her children.

But where can she find that hope?  How will she hear the Truth?  Will we be able to reach her at the time she's most vulnerable??

Here are a few ideas I came up with to reach ladies at times when they need to hear about Jesus the most.  These are things we can do as ladies within our own local churches to reach out to other ladies in our communities.

Reach them after the birth of a new baby.
What better time to reach out to a woman than after the birth of her child?  She will be thinking about her life, the life of her child and their future.  Many times young parents will decide to make "religious decisions" for the sake of a new baby.

Reach out to her and her family by giving them a small gift of some kind and an invitation to your church.  Perhaps you could also include a phone number of a lady that would like to minister to these ladies.  The young mother would have that number and could call that lady if she needed anything.  Food for the baby, parenting advice, a shoulder to lean on...whatever she may have need of.

As for the gifts, I was thinking homemade baby blankets, hats, diapers, perhaps something for the mother...  Anything to let her and her family know you care for them and want to have them at your church.

Contact each of the ladies that have announcements in the paper that they are newly married or soon to be married.
A card of congratulations along with an invitation to church and maybe a candle, a picture frame or anything for the new couple to put in their home that will remind them that there's a friendly church in town that cares about them.

Everyone needs to know someone cares for them when there's a death in the family.
Everyone thinks about eternity after a death, and when the death is in your own family you start to put things in perspective.  Watch the newspaper announcements, and keep your ears open for news of any family that might need your encouragement and love.  Send a card or deliver a casserole.  Be creative.  Do whatever you can to let them know that your church loves them and wants to help them through this hard time.  Be sure they are invited to your church and be sure they get the gospel.

***These items could made at ladies' meetings or bought by someone that would like this to be their personal ministry.  This would make a fabulous ministry for any lady that can't get out of the house easily, but wants to be a blessing in her church and community.   Just be sure that people are invited to your church and that the Gospel is given to ever person you reach in one way or another!
