Daddy's Little Princess

Have you ever seen a little girl with her daddy?  She wants something.  She climbs up on his lap, bats her cute little eyes, smiles up at him, and asks in her sweetest little voice.  "Please, Daddy?  Please?"

He breaks.  He's done.  Yet another strong, healthy man has been rendered completely useless.  She can have anything she wants at this point because she has him wrapped around her little finger and they both know it!

But did you know that YOU can do the same with your Father?  You can!

Our Father WANTS to answer our prayers!!
  • Jeremiah 33:3 ~ Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
  • 1 John 5:14-15 ~ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
  • John 15:7 ~ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Our Father WANTS to provide for us!!
  • Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
  • Matthew 7:11 ~ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
  • James 1:17 ~ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights...
Our Father WANTS to love us:
  • I John 4:7-10 ~ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  In this was manifested {shown} the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation {atonement} for our sins.
Our Father WANTS to give us what's best!!
  • Psalm 37:4 ~ Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.   This verse is taken out of context more times than not.  This verse doesn't say that we will have everything our hearts desire, but rather we will have desires that are pleasing to God.  God will give us the desires HE wants us to have.  And then, when we ask in His name and in His will, He will give us those things that are good for us to have.
No good parent will give their child anything and everything they want.  Sometimes the child is not wise enough to see that the things he'd like to have are actually dangerous in the long run.  But, I do believe, that just as we would like to give our children everything that good and fun and exciting {and within our power}, so God wants to give and bless us with those things that we would like to have {and when you consider His power...!!!}.

So, lets consider these things when asking our Father for the things we need and want. We should understand that if we truly need those things, He will provide them.  If we only want them...He may still provide them.  But we must always ask in faith, and love and not in greed.   And let us try to have a good attitude whether He says, "yes", "no", or "not now".

Remember we are daughters of the King!!  Our Father has the power to give us anything and everything.  If He should choose not too, then there must be a reason - a reason that is always for our best.
