You need:
- 8 cups white vinegar
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 cup baking soda
- Essentials oils of your choice (like lavender, lemon, orange...)
Directions:
In a big bucket (this will be fizzy) mix vinegar and water. Slowly add baking soda; stirring constantly. Use a funnel to pour this mixture into a gallon size container. Add 1/3 teaspoon of essential oil to the gallon container. For a stronger smell you can add more. Shake before each use. Add about a half a cup to a whole cup to the fabric softener dispenser depending on the size and content of your load.
You can add 3-5 drops of eucalyptus or tea tree oil to the dispenser along with the fabric softener to kill bacteria, mold, and viruses.

Love it!
ReplyDeleteCould i add the tea tree oil to the whole fabric soften instead of adding it separate? If i do that and use this to soak sponges in to put in the dryer will the tea tree in it effect the colors if it gets on the clothes from the wet sponge? Do you have any idea?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would cause any problems. You could certainly give it a try! It shouldn't affect any of the colors. I use it in the wash after viruses and things all the time. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you mix oils or stick with one kind? What scent combinations have worked for you?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
You really can use any and all kinds of Essential Oils! They are fantastic and each do a different job(s)! It's such a HUGE subject, and I plan to go into further detail on the blog in the future!! (I would however strongly recommend lavender!) :)
