The Royal Treatment

Manicures, pedicures, massages, and hot oil treatments, all are extremely necessary, and yes, even mandatory when you're a princess!!

But, "Pretty is as pretty does".  You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you treat people like dirt, never smile, or even pretend to care about others; no one will think you are even slightly pretty.  {The most beautiful thing a true lady can wear is a smile!}

On the other hand, you can be less than average.  But, if you smile, have a genuine love and concern for others, and go out of your way to serve and encourage those around you; others will consider you beautiful.  Genuine beauty comes from the inside.

I love to be treated like a princess.  The best way to be sure the treatment continues is to be sure you remember your manners.  If you want to be treated like a princess you must behave like a princess. On the other hand, if you like to be treated like a man, well.....

A princess always remembers her manners.
  • Please and Thank You are a must!  I say it as often as I can - especially to my children!  I want them to learn by my example.
  • Yes, Ma'am/Sir are wonderful habits to have too, even for adults, but especially for children!
  • I'm sorry is never fun to say, but sometimes very necessary.
  • Be careful not to speak or laugh too loudly.  There's nothing worse than a woman who is so loud she can be heard above the roar of the crowd!  A loud woman simply isn't a lovely thing!!
  • Offer to help those who need it.  Cary a bag, a baby, or open a door for someone.
  • Compliment others.  You never know what someone may be going through.  A kind word and a sincere smile could very possibly make someone's day!
  • Sit like a lady!  Keep your knees and ankles together!  If you're wearing a skirt, keep it down!  Don't let it ride up and don't cross your legs in a way that would allow others to see up it.  Also - consider where you are.  Will you be on a platform or any kind of ramp or stairs today?  Take that into consideration when dressing.  You may need to wear a longer skirt so that no one will see up.
  • Walk like a lady!  Don't walk or act like a man.  Be as feminine as you can! People should be able to tell by the way you walk that you are a lady from a distance.
  • Never speak ill of a fellow princess.  Remember, we are all the King's Daughters.  Ask yourself: would I say this about my sister?  before you say something about another daughter of the King.  If you wouldn't say it about your blood sister you probably shouldn't say it about your fellow princess.
  • Don't talk with food in your mouth and be careful about chewing gum.  I would say don't even chew it, but I like to practice what I preach and I don't plan on practicing that!  ;)
 Can you think of anything I may have forgotten?  I'd love to hear it!  Post it in the comment section below or on my Facebook page.
