Every Child Should Know

There are so many fun and exciting things we can teach our children!  Things that go above and beyond their school work.  Things that we learned as children.  Things we wish we'd learned as children.  Things they are interested in. Even things that are just for fun. 

Every child is different and has different interests and abilities.   At our house we provide as many opportunities to learn as we can.  Not all of our children are interested in the same things.  Not all of them are good at the same things.

Here's a list of things I'd like to teach our children {or at least have available to them if they're interested}:

1. To do their best and not quit
2. To be obedient and respectful
3. Do right with a happy heart and a right spirit
4. Sew/make their own quilts for their beds
5. Learn to manage a business {Sugar & Spice}
6. Typing/Computer Skills
7. Photography/Cinema
8. Sign Language/Other Foreign Language
9. Cooking/Baking
10. Piano/Music
11. Singing/Voice
12. Self Defense
13. Mechanics
14. Carpentry/building/wood working
15. Drawing/art/painting
16. Guns & Gun Safety
17. Swimming
18. Money management/book keeping & bank records {including tithing and giving to missions}
19. Frugality/creative ways to make/save money
20. Soul Winning
21. Bee Keeping/Raising Honey
22. Raising Chickens/Eggs
23. Gardening/Canning/Freezing
24. Cleaning/Laundry
25. Hunting/Fishing
26. Ice Skating/Roller Blades
27. Soap/body Scrub/lip balm making
28. Stilts ~ Ok, this one's totally not necessary, but it's so fun to watch them try!!!! 
29. Bikes
30. Horse Back riding

The items on this list that are bold are things that we've started on or at least dabble in.  Others will have to wait until there is time, money, interest or ability. These are just the ideas we have come up with.  There are so many out there!!
