Double Standard??

Have you ever wondered why the Bible would say in Proverbs 23:31 not to even look at wine? (Basically, this mean not to let it tempt you.  Don't allow it to become appealing to you.  If we don't look at it, it won't look good to us.)  And then in I Timothy 5:23, it says to take a little for your stomach's sake and thine often infirmities?

I used to wonder about this.  And guess what!  I've figured out the answer. Apple Cider Vinegar is good for your stomach.  Good for a lot of things really, heart burn, digestive problems and stomach issues are all helped by Apple Cider Vinegar.  And guess what else?

Apple Cider Vinegar has been fermented not once, but TWICE!  We wouldn't consider it alcohol or wine today.  But in that day it was called wine because it is made at home and in the same way, even though it was used for medicinal purposes.  The people of that day understood exactly what Paul was speaking of.

I guess we can safely assume that Timothy had chronic heart burn...or something of that nature. (Maybe this the first ever mention of acid reflux.  Law of first mention???)   ;)

Poor Timothy--------------> =(

  1. This is so interesting! I knew Apple Cider Vinegar was fermented, but never thought of it in this way!
