National Sister Week??

I was informed that this is "National Sister Week".  I didn't know that, in fact, I didn't even know there was such a thing!  But I'm always up for a good holiday.  Let's celebrate!

I have one sister.  She is almost 2 years younger than I am.  Which means, that I am way more mature and quite a bit more important than she is!

OK, that's not really what it means, but it sounds good and I've taken great delight in telling her these things (and many others like them).

She and I weren't always close.  In fact, there was a time when we were not close at all.  I was told that one day we'd look forward to the time we would get to spend together.  At the time, I found that hard to believe.

If you were one of the people that told me those things, I want you to know that your were right and I do look forward to spending time with her.  The problem is that she lives in Arizona and I live...well, we are in transition right now, but we will be living at least 3 days drive from home (Arizona).

The point is that we don't get very many opportunities to spend time together.  But I do enjoy her in-put, her out-look and her since of humor.  I miss her greatly and I love her.  She's my friend now, and I thank God to have a sister like her.

Your sister is your first friend in life. No one will ever understand your crazy family like your sister.  Your sister will hold your hand for a little while, but will hold your heart for a lifetime.
