The Dangers of MSG

 MSG is a chemical that is added to our food.  In fact, it's added to just about everything with any kind of seasoning in it all all.  Processed, prepackaged foods, canned soups, read the labels on your food and know what you're eating before you eat it.  The day I decided to go MSG-FREE I went through my spice cabinet and threw out just about all of it.  {Most of it was so old it needed to be thrown out anyway!}  It was such a relief!!

MSG causes more problems and has been linked to more diseases than most people realize.  Here are a few:

Allergic reactions and sometime death if the reaction is server enough.
Alzheimer's
Asthma attacks
Cancer
Chest pain
Confusion
Birth defects
Diarrhea
Headaches/migraines
Heart disease
Memory loss
Nausea
Fertility problems (for both men and women)
Rapid, fluttering heartbeats
Seizures
Shortness of breath
Stuttering or speech problems
Sweating
Type 2 diabetes
Weakness
Weight gain (this type of weight gain is hard to lose because your body doesn't know how to process it and filter it out.}

Foods that probably contain MSG:
Flavored potato chips, canned soups and stocks, bullion cubes and seasoning packets {Ramon Noodles}, condiments, cookies, prepackaged, frozen dinners and lunch foods, and fast food are a few..the list is endless.  Be sure you read your labels at the grocery store and don't buy foods containing this ingredient.

Ways to Limit MSG:
Eat your own homemade foods using your own seasonings.  Avoid fast foods as much as possible.  Eat natural whole foods instead of prepackaged ultra processed foods.  Don't buy/eat flavored potato chips unless you know that brand doesn't have MSG. {Sun Chips and Tias are brands I like to get.}

Monosodium Glutamate {MSG} is made from sea weed and can be hidden labeled as "other natural flavors" and "yeast protein".
