Aluminum Free Deodorant

I've been wanting to find a deodorant without aluminum for a while and I couldn't find one that I liked.  (Actually, I couldn't find one with a price that I liked.)  The only deodorant that doesn't break me out is that TOM's all natural deodorant, and it's expensive.  So, I have this wonderful friend who has given me a recipe to make my own deodorant.

What you need:
 1/4 c cornstarch
1/4 c baking soda
5 TBS coconut oil
2 -3 drops of tea tree oil - optional
empty deodorant containers - WITHOUT holes - common since, I know, but I had deodorant enough for 3 months all over my dining table!  {Just look at the bottom of the tube and make sure the bottom doesn't have holes in it.

What you do:
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until oil is melted. Pour into container (empty deodorant container) and let cool.

I like it!

Update:  I still use this deodorant.  But I no longer use the deodorant containers.  I now store it in a small dish that I keep in my bathroom, and use my fingers to apply just a tad each morning.  I still love this recipe, but the deodorant containers just weren't working for me.  ~ Just an idea ~

    2. I've been using a similar recipe for over a year because of sensitivity issues to regular deodorant. The recipe I have uses less cornstarch/baking soda and still works like a charm. I also don't melt it. I just put it all in a baggy, seal, mix it, then put it into my container.

    4. I made some a couple weeks ago and am very impressed with the results. So easy to make and works really well :) So much better than paying $4-$5 for an aluminum-free brand that still has other junk in it. :)

    7. Does it act as an antiperspirant too? What about staining clothes?
