Convenient Cookie Dough

You know those rolls of Pillsbury Cooke Dough??  They are soo convenient and fun.  When the kids want to bake cookies and you don't want to make/clean up a huge mess just grab a roll and get to baking.  At least that's what *I* used to do...  But those things are filled with ingredients no one should ever eat!  Which makes me sad.  So, I decided to make my own rolls of cookie dough!

Here's how I do it...
Convenient Cookie Dough

Make your cookie dough.  Some freeze better than others, so you may want to try a half a batch, or the last bit of a batch to see if it will freeze well.  Simply, make your cookie dough.  Dump it out on plastic wrap.

Use the plastic to form the dough into a long roll.  Flip the roll over and cover with another layer of plastic wrap.

Put in freezer and someday when you're in a hurry you'll have healthy cookies that you can bake without making a huge mess and spending too much time.

I have used zip lock bags for this, but I found that I wasted too much of the dough and I can't stand to waste food, so I opted to go this route.

TIP:  When baking cookies, just make a double batch and use the extra for the cookie dough roll.  Or, make a triple batch of your favorite dough and make 3 rolls when you have a free 20 minuets.  It will save you time later, I promise!

So much fun and so little mess...that's the way I like it!

  2. I have several cookie recipes under my "recipes" tab! We usually make chocolate chip cookie dough rolls or pumpkin chocolate chip cookie dough rolls.

    Sorry about that. =)
