$250.00 Cookies!!!

{This really happened!  It's a true story!}

A lady had lunch at the HEDGES in NEIMAN MARCUS one November.  For dessert she enjoyed a cookie.  Thinking it was the best cookies she had ever had, she asked if the recipe was available.  "Why, yes.  You can have the recipe."  She was told.  "But there's a charge of two fifty."  Thinking it was worth it the lady asked the company to charge her account and took the recipe.

In December when the lady received her bill, she found a charge of $250.00!  Quickly she called the company that there was a mistake on her bill.  She should not have been charged $250.00 but rather $2.50.  The man on the other end of the phone then informed her that the recipe she had received was indeed worth $250.00 and she would be expected to pay it or become delinquent in her payments.  Not sure what else she could do, she decided to pay the $250.00.

Since she paid so much for the recipe, she printed it out and gave it to as many people as she could.  Here's the recipe:

Neiman Marcus $250 Cookies
preheat oven to 370*

Mix 1 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup of brown sugar until butter is blended.

Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoons of Vanilla.

Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 21/2 cups Oatmeal, 2 cups of flour

Add 11/2 cups chopped nuts and 12 ounces of chocolate chips and 1/2 of an 8 ounce grated HERSHEY bar.

Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.  Bake for about 8 minutes and enjoy!

Make these with your kids and decide if YOU think they're worth $250.00!!!
