Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

2 Cups Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Applesauce (or coconut oil)
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 Eggs

2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
11/2 Cups Oats
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips  (or raisins, or chocolate covered raisins, or.....;)

Mix sugar, butter, applesauce, vanilla, and eggs in a large bowl.  Mix flour, oats, baking powder and baking soda in a smaller bowl.  Mix flour mixture in with sugar mixture.  Fold in chocolate chips.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Tip:  If you are like me, and you like convenience food, you can make an extra batch and roll it in wax paper.  Then put it in a gallon size zip lock bag.  Put it in the freezer until you need it.  There you have it....a roll of frozen cookie dough.  Just like you'd buy in the store, but yours actually has nutritional value and no preservative and additives.  =D

  1. Tried this recipe last night but I put my own twist on it. Made them in a Mini Muffin pan and in my toaster oven so I didn't heat up the whole house. Very delicious!
