Are YOU a Pumpkin??

We don't do Halloween at our house, {I've explained why here} but we do have fun with fall leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, pine cones and all kinds of autumn fun!  I don't see any reason why my children shouldn't have fun during the fall.  We call it "Harvest Fun"!   This is a cute "harvest fun" story someone told me.  I thought you might like it:

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"  The lady replied, "It's like being a pumpkin.  God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.  Then, He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.  He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, impatience....and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

  2. We don't celebrate Halloween here either, but last year we told this story, and carved a pumpkin with a friendly smile on one side, and on the other side, we carved a cross, and when we put a candle in it, and set it on our front porch, it shined a big cross on our door! It was really neat.

    Blessings,

  3. I can't carve pumpkins. They always end up looking horrible! So, we paint them. I love to decorate for fall. =)
