We first heard from Jacky Stensaas on Monday, August 15th. This is an update to their ministry and very exciting! You can follow Jacky and her family on her husband's blog...or you can go to Jacky's page for more "behind the scenes" information!
Jacky writes....
Uganda is a poor country. Because of that, you don’t find many homes with electricity, running water, indoor bathrooms, etc. Much of the population live in a small room that would make your walk-in closet look spacious! I have sat in many homes on the floor, on a thin worn mattress, or on their only piece of furniture - a small handmade stool, which was probably borrowed from the neighbor for their white guest to sit down on! All of this to say – children do not sit around playing video games, watching movies, or even reading books or playing with toys! They do not own these things! But one thing most families DO have access to is a radio. They want to hear the news. Children love to dance to the music from their radios. Radio is entertainment to many Ugandans. Radio is their door to the outside world. And what better way to reach these people with the Gospel than through something they listen to everyday!
Because of this, the Lord led my husband to start a Christian radio station. It was amazing how the Lord brought it to pass. He provided the set-up funds for it through many generous people in America. He provided us access to the TALLEST tower on the mountain just outside our town. This allows the radio to broadcast further than we anticipated. God’s ways are far beyond ours!
This past weekend, we were finally able to get all the equipment set up and now Truth Radio is broadcasting to millions of people in Eastern Uganda. The unsaved will hear the Gospel. The saved will hear Truths that will help them grow spiritually.
A Bible College student pointing at all the homes that will now have access to the Gospel due to the new Truth Radio Station!!

This time of year makes me think of Thanksgiving, a time which we should be thankful for all God has given to us! How many of you have ever complained or whined about something? We all have! Did you know that when you complain or whine that you are NOT thankful? Instead of whining about that food your mom makes you eat, thank her for it! Ugandan children eat beans every day.
Instead of complaining that you don’t want to wear that dress, be thankful you have a dress to wear! Ugandan children usually have 1 or 2 sets of clothes. Sometimes when I tell my children that it’s time to start school they groan and complain. But we should be thankful we can get an education! If a Ugandan child can go to school, sometimes they are sent to a boarding school where they see their mom or dad only 3 months out of the year! If they go to a school close to home, they leave home at 7 in the morning and do not get home until 5:30pm. They even go to school on SATURDAYS! Aren’t you glad your mom or your school gives you Saturdays off?!
Next time you are tempted to complain about something, be thankful for ALL the good things God has blessed you with! I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
