Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall...

Who's the fairest of us all...??

Am I the only one that has ever wondered why the ugly villain is usually the Queen Mother...?

My girls have always enjoyed all things princess.  They want to be girly and feminine.  They want to be beautiful.  I was afraid, though, that they'd become obsessed with themselves, their clothes and shoes and, well, material possessions in general.

So, I made being a princess about being feminine, sweet, and kind.  We clean in our "princess best".  We talk about how a princess could help others.  We compare the princess to her ugly step mother.

You see, every princess has a choice to make.  She can chose to be kind and helpful and grow up to become a sweet, loving, and beautiful queen.  Or, she can decide to be self centered and greedy; thus growing up into a mean, cruel, and wicked step-mother.

We must ask ourselves, in all honesty, are we on the road to becoming the sweet, gentle, loving queen?  Or, are we more like the ugly step mother?

Ugly can come in different shapes and sizes:
  • Greed.
  • Laziness.
  • Impatience. {ouch!}
  • Bitterness.
  • Unwillingness to forgive and move on.
  • Loud, and stubborn.
  • Rebellion - not submissive.
  • Hateful.
  • Self centered.
These are all things that are not becoming to a princess.

We must replace ugly with:
  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Long suffering
  • Gentleness
  • Goodness
  • Peace
  • Meekness
  • Temperance
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall...
what do you want to be most of all...??
